designed by Marc Lombard.

 

Built in France of carbon fiber with a Nomex core in 2002, Areté was originally named for her sponsor, SOPRA, and was later named Emotion. The boat was purchased by Rick Warner in the spring of 2015, and sailed from France to her summer home in the Great Lakes. She will compete in:

 

 The Queen’s Cup, (South Shore Yacht Club)

The Chicago to Mackinac Race (Chicago Yacht Club)

The Super Mac

The Bayview Mackinac Race

Areté is also the central asset in a sports sponsorship and experiential marketing company called Shearwater, where she will be paired with an exciting brand for racing, shoreside events and company sails.
