Built in France of carbon fiber with a Nomex core in 2002, Areté was originally named for her sponsor, SOPRA, and was later named Emotion. The boat was purchased by Rick Warner in the spring of 2015, and sailed from France to her summer home in the Great Lakes.
Areté currently resides at its winter home in Muskegon Harbor with Torresen Marine Inc. after a nice 16 knot delivery under only the number two.
2019 World Record Run
"Areté and crew were at record-breaking pace during their attempt on September 13. At over 28 knots per hour, they experienced a rudder failure, which would not allow them to stay on record breaking course and speed, so the attempt was aborted.
